Children Ministry (NGO, Hischild / social welfare, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) This ministry caters for children in crisis- those who are homeless or live on the streets of Cambodia begging for a living.
1. Mobile Drop in Centre
The bus operates 8 times a week during the early morning, afternoon and evening for street children and visits them where they live. The bus has been remodeled and is equipped with a shower system, consultation room, clinic and educational video system. We assist children by providing basic education. The staff try thier best to become friends with the neglected children. Most of these children endure harsh living conditions and are exposed to such vices as drug addiction (glue sniffing) and violence.
Prayer Requests:
- Protect the children from drug abuse and sexual harrasement
- Pray for the safety of the children and that they will not despair when they think about their future.
-Pray that our evangelism programmes are effective.
- Pray for good the health for the staff and that they will continue to serve in joy.
2.Kingdom Kids Home
The Childrens’ Centre is a residential home accomodating 60 children. Among them are orphans and street children . They range in age from 4 to 18 years and come from various backgrounds. We want to raise them as disciples of Christ through living in a Christian community, just as Mordecai raised young Esther and saved their people.
We focus on the importance of disciplined living and education. We pray that these children will have a positive impact on the society.
Prayer Requests:
-For the children to grow healthy spritually, physically and mentally.
-Many of our children come to us with inner hurts. Pray for emotional healing.
-For our adolescents- that they will have a Godly self-image.
-For the children to shine Jesus’ light at their schools and in society.
3.Day Care Centre This Centre provides basic education three times a week which includes Khmer, Mathematics, English and simple health lessons for poor children in Takhmao.
At Day Care we also teach the gospel through an evangelical programme and support the children financially to enter the local school.
Prayer Requests:
-Thank God for the manner in which our children have progressed.
-Pray that we can build a shelter or classrooms as at the moment the classes are held outside.
-For the children to participate well in their education and for good cooperation from their parents
-For growth in faith for our children and their families.
4. Youth Centre The Youth Centre is a facility designed for boys from 15 years old until finishing high school. The ministry accepts students from The His Child Children's Centre and from poor village families. We provide accommodation, food, clothing and school fees. We teach them the Gospel in order to make them disciples of Jesus Christ. We also give them special teaching needed for young male adults and provide them with necessary life skills for their future. Even after their graduation at high school, we want to support them until they have jobs and their own families. We hope they will become good Christians who will lead Cambodia according to the Word of God.
Church Ministry (Hischurch / Ministry of Religion)
Doulos Church Doulos Church was started by some of our older children from the Children’s Centre. Sunday school is conducted every Sunday at 7’oclock and youth/adult service is held at 9 o’clock. In addition to Sunday services, Bible studies are carried out in small groups during the week.We meet in rural villages and have children’s clubs as well as adult cell groups.
Prayer Requests: * For the staff conducting the church services and the Sunday school classes. * For more active participation from the children, youth and the adults in the church service. * For the Christians in our rural villages to be bold in spreading the gospel. * For the people of Hischurch to grow in faith and to worship in spirit and in truth.
Village Outreach This is an outreach ministry that visits the poor who live in remote regions of the countryside where access to a church is difficult. The Gospel is introduced through Bible study, medical services and fellowship. Children are provided with basic educational activities and music which in turn creates a pathway to introduce the message of Christ to them. We reach out to children as well as adults.
Community Centre
This centre caters for the needs of the surrounding community and offers education and training for women and children. We have facilities to teach English, Music and Computer classes. The purpose of the Community Centre is to extend God’s love and care through Christian generosity.
Kindergarten
This kindergarten is set in a modern, well-equipped educational environment and provides pre-school classes for children from the Takhmao community. Oureducators are trained to international standards and demonstrate the love of God in their approach to teaching.
Preparation of Establishment of Christian International School (His School)
As we prayerfully considered future ministries, God laid it upon our hearts to open a Christian school.
HIS International School (HIS) The school will offer world class bilingual education in Khmer and English in accordance with the Cambodian School Curriculum set by the Ministry of Education.
The school will provide a strong foundation in Christian-based learning and ethics. We seek to inculcate in every student a sense of good citizenship, honesty, integrity, compassion and respect for the law.
We believe that every child has an inviolable right to education. HIS International School therefore strives to provide world class education from pre-school to secondary level at affordable costs.
The school will prepare students to become honorable members of their community and will work whenever possible for the good of the community.
We have a plot of land – 35,000square metres that has been prepared to house this future school We now ask for prayer for volunteers with the needed expertise to join us in making this dream a reality.
